Emblazoned
by Lee A. Barron
Internal heat permeated epidermal layers of lust; melting flesh upon flesh. They bathed in the magma of forbidden decadence - hypnotic, beguiling, seductive. It was foreign this touch. He had never felt it with the senses. In dreams maybe: but, then he'd awaken.
Religious mores taught this was sinful. Eros was not to be spoken, or thought conceived. His palm had felt the smack of a ruler too many times for much less. She was ravishing ~ the way she moved, smiled at him in delight. Her allure was reconstructing his limbic system. All resistance was lost. He relished the burn.
Evening carried them through stages of ecstasy. The liquid eyes that held his gaze, the pointed lips that whispered his name, the flaxen locks that brushed his skin, entranced him. Nothing else mattered than his desire to hold and devour her forever. When they finished she left him as molten. Just as the flesh, the soul too had been touched, and he slept contentedly. Silently she vanished, leaving him in ruination... he would be forever imprisoned by Aphrodite's touch.
(Bio: just me - love words/previously published works in The Heart Book Series.)
There was something very poetic about this. :)
ReplyDeleteVivid feelings portrayed in this. I really like how the constant sensory influx reflects the experience of the character. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteYour muse was present from start to finish; I felt her touch in every seamless transition, in every poignant word. Your imagery left me breathless; I saw this in my soul's eye. Excellent work. It was quite poetic.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
lovely, lovely, lovely slice of ecstasy!
ReplyDeleteNow that's hot.
ReplyDelete"Leaving him in ruination" - poor guy. I can't help hoping he moves on to a different faith, one which isn't so hostile to the flesh.
ReplyDeleteSomehow, being imprisoned by Aphrodite's touch sounds pretty good.
ReplyDeleteWell done!
I pity the girl who gets him next - Aphrodite would be a tough act to follow! ~jana
ReplyDeleteWith the religious overtones, I was trying to figure who this guy was...but then Aphrodite wouldn't really care. She'd take what she wanted and leave the rest behind.
ReplyDeleteNice!
Dottie :)
Sexy and sensual!! Phew, this is one hot story!! Take care

I've always had a thing for Aphrodite. Now I know why. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow.. I loved this piece..
ReplyDeleteAimee, Joni, Miki, Jade, Precie, Peter, fairyhedgehog, Michael, bluesugarpoet, Dottie, Old Kitty, Richard and yamini - thank you all so very much for your comments. I am new to this contest, so I was a little reticent about posting. You have all made me feel very welcome. Best of luck to all. ~ Lee
ReplyDeleteGreat images in this story of volcanic lovers.
ReplyDeleteReally great imagery. That Aphrodite is one helluva lady. Oops... mixed multiple mythos there.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this.
For whatever reason (and maybe it's just me), I wanted to know the approximate age of the protagonist. Still, very creative ... it's always nice to see new contestants joining in on the fun.
ReplyDeleteI had to break out the fan to cool off, lol... intense!
ReplyDeleteSo our protagonist had Sister Marie Bernadette for his catechism class, too? (It'd take more than a rap across the knuckles with a ruler to beat the lust out of humanity.) This is erotica as it should be, in my bit-of-the-ol'-prude opinion; sensual without being raunchy. And I agree, this does have the feel of poetry more along the lines of Bhartrihari than Goddesses Gone Wild.
ReplyDeleteLee, welcome to Clarity of Night! I thought this piece was incredibly intense and a sensory delight. You described to all consuming passion of the lovers with a poetic deftness and skill that I can only dream of.
ReplyDeleteI may take a cold shower now ... and say a decade of the rosary....
Aiden, Chris, jr, Apple, Linda, and Janey - thank you for your feedback.
ReplyDeleteEveryone who commented brought a smile to my face and a few of you even made me laugh.
@ Linda - thank you for seeing this as "sensual and not raunchy" - that was the intent.
Did anyone notice this guy's soul was also touched ...just wondering?
~ Lee
This has a lot of intensity! Nice work.
ReplyDeleteRe: his soul --- yes, I caught that she'd touched his soul. I thought that's ultimately why he felt ruined...not just because of the physical but in combination with the spiritual. She has him completely. Which is why I think it works.
ReplyDeleteDrew ty ~.
ReplyDeletePrecie :)
Desire can be so unbelievably intoxicating and very hard to describe. You did a very fine job of doing just that.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on Forties Club!
