It's been a great competition, Jason, and as ever the standard of writing has been really high. Choosing just five reader's choice nominees was next to impossible - there was such a range of writing and all of it good. Each time I chose one on my list of five, I wanted to go back and choose someone else! Frankly, I think I could have selected at least three groups of five nominees and still not felt I'd done the outstanding writing justice.

I don't envy you the task of choosing a winner!

Thanks again for a great competition.

I have to echo everything that Absolute Vanilla said. I had to press send fast after writing that e:mail because I changed my mind so often. Also it's been great to visit everyone's blogs and websites and just marvel at all the talent out there. Thank you again.

Thank you for hosting this exciting contest! I also had some hard times choosing my fives.

Thank *you* for these contests!!! I love seeing how everyone has a different vision for the same prompt.

And I haven't read them all yet, but am looking forward to curling up with my computer later and surrounding myself with quiet.

Jason,

I'm sorry I was unable to cast a Reader's Choice ballot this time, as I work weekends and couldn't read all the entries. The ones I did read were extremely well-written. Thank you for having these contests. Not only have I read some excellent writing, but I've been introduced to a wonderful and supporting community of writers.

I missed the Reader's Choice voting deadline too, and I apologize! I feel like I was doing everybody a disservice by not registering my appreciation via my vote. I hope you got plenty of input to work with nonetheless, and congratulations to everybody for gettin' the thing written and submitted! That's the hard part (or at least it is the hard part if you don't consider the work Jason has to do!).

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who missed the voting deadline. I am still making my way through the entries - there is some superb writing in there!

Meanwhile...
It's Monday Afternoon already in Ireland, wake up Jason, wake UP! The suspense is killing me!!!

I apologize to everyone for not getting my votes in as well. It was as much feeling pressed for time as it was feeling like selecting just five was just too damned hard.

A lot of really good stuff!

I didn't vote, either. :P

But what I've read of everyone's I've truly loved! And I agree -- this round was TOUGH to decide. I guess it was good I didn't have time to cast the vote -- it would have taken me hours and hours to figure out a top five! (Or even a top 10, for goodness' sake!)

Also, thanks, Jason, for the honorable mention. I'm shocked. And appreciative.
