Just can't resist this one: "people are not meant to endure... is that true?" ;)
I love that anyone who I'd like to stay with me will always be with me. They live in my thoughts. The exact person who I met when I was with them physically. After all, that's the only person I knew in the first place-- the "who" that they are in my thoughts.
You write the most wonderful thoughts. Thank you! :)
Walking Man, that's true. Those motions, the construction and deconstruction, are what truly endures.
Karen, yes, those remnants and lingering spirits are there. I just struggle to take much from the past.
Wild Rose, I'm trying to learn to embrace what life's rhythm puts into our hands. And takes away. I wish I were better at that.
Petty, that photo was taken on one of first nights of our vacation down at the shore. I think you sense my wish that it weren't so. Especially when people themselves are the tides.
Spacedlaw, thank you!
Aine, I like that thought--that we carry them with us always (our version of them, at least). I just need to exorcise the feeling that they are mere ghosts and the messengers of regret.

Lovely photo and poem.
beautiful
The sand is simply moving back to sea but the tides though they rise and fall endure everything. Wonderful thing that force of movement.
But for a while, they do endure in the things they touched physically and spiritually. They do leave a bit of themselves with us.
So true and yes sand can't endure much but people do learn from their past. Lovely poem my friend :)
The picture was perfect for this poem. A bit of a romantic at heart, I love the bitter sweetness of your words.
Wonderful, Jason.
