I keep my writing life and professional life separate.
In some ways, they aren't very compatible. And yet they don't seem to have any trouble living in my skin together. Go figure.
I want to take a brief moment here at Clarity and let the two lives mix a little. I've hit a major milestone in my career. I'm even going to let myself be a bit proud. I've become a senior executive in a health care institution with a world reputation. I represented them for many years as lawyer, and now I'm joining the team. I'm more than ready to leave firm life and take on a new set of challenges.
I expect to keep blogging at the same pace, but work on my novel has ground to a halt. When I find a new balance, I expect pick it up again and finish. Until then, maybe it will percolate.
Wish me luck in my other life! Thank you all for being friends.

All the Best, Jason. I wish you all the success and prosperity.
I am really glad to know that you will continue blogging at the same pace.
Keep writing, Keep inspiring.
Congratulations, Jason! This is wonderful news. I feel bad for being surprised at your career, though, because I never would have guessed such a creative spirit was a lawyer and soon to be executive! Terribly ignorant of me. Thanks for setting me straight. I hope you post more on how your career move goes. Sorry you need to take a break from your novel.
Congrats Jason! Your upbeat tone speaks volumes.
absolutely, may luck and good fortune follow you!!!
I hope you find the challenges your creative mind require in the new gig. Best of times!
Congratulations! Best of luck in the new position.
Congratulations! What an achievement. Good luck.
Congratulations, Jason! Letting the novel percolate will make it richer and more layered. When you go back to it, you'll first see it from a distance you can't possibly get when you're immersed in the writing. It will be a better book because of this resting period.
But try not to stay away from the novel too long. When it starts to bubble over, jump back in, even if that means putting your faithful blog readers on the back burner. I hope no one gets mad at me for saying this. :) But finishing your novel is even more important than feeding our addiction to your beautiful words and photographs.
Congratulations on the new position, Jason! And if I can draw from my own experiences, letting your novel percolate may improve it dramatically. (At least, I'm assuming that's what's going to happen once I get back to it.)
Best of luck in the new role!
Congratulations and Happy Trails to you!
Awesome! Good luck! (And it's nice to know that I'm not the only one having a hard time balancing work and writing a novel).
Good luck with your other lives! :)

Thank you all for the warm wishes! No matter how prepared I might think I am, I still am going to go through a serious period of adjustment. But that's one of my strengths. I'm a quick study.
It will be nice to get back to novel writing, but at this point, I don't think I'd give up this form of writing if I had to choose only one. Writing for me is about expression and communication, and you can't beat this medium for speed and freedom and variety. I love being able to do so many different things. A novel is a very different kind of project. If that was the only way I could write, I would probably stop. Strange, I know.
Congratulations, Jason! And all the very best for your new role as senior executive! :)
It's funny how, with absolutely no chance of career advancement, I've questioned my own writing life, whether I'd still have room for it. Congrats, Jason!
Congratulations Jason!
You've got every right to be proud of yourself.
I'm certain your new position will be a wonderful new challenge in your career - lots & lots of luck with it!
I've no doubts that you'll get back to your novel when the time's right and good to know you'll continue blogging and inspiring us.
