Reconnaissance

someday I'll learn your weapons
I always do
so even if you don't mean to strike
you'll hit air and empty shoes

Strangely reminds me of Bush's shoe throwing incident!

For some reason the explosions always knock the shoes off. Doesn't even have to be a direct hit.

In order to understand you have to know the engineering not only of the weapon but the reason for its use.

Brief but good! It's that "I always do" that intrigues me.

Atrisa, surprisingly, he showed some good ninja skills there with the dodge.

Walking Man, yes, that's a wise approach. It really isn't enough to look only at the weapon itself.

Karen, very astute. Sometimes my poems are confessions. That line is the soul of this one.

Bebo, I wasn't sure what I was going to use as a photo, then this shot I took over the Chesapeake Bay caught my eye. I really like the stone/carved effect.

Shadow, yes, in a way. In another, to prepare is a form of suffering.

I really like that line: "so even if you don't mean to strike" It sets a tone maturity, as if there's someone up there who can step in when the kids get too far adrift.

Jas, our weapons are probably the most dangerous when we don't realize we're using them.

And your last comment sinks in and completes the whole. I am seeing such from all angles and I am liking when words written allow me to do such.
