The Faces of Halloween

We spied him wandering with his burning coal. Jack of the Lantern hiding from the Devil. Nothing but flickers lit his way.

Take a walk with us Halloween night. This is what we saw.

And this one was ours. (I was going for an insect motif, LOL!)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Lovely, eerie photos - your insect one would certainly scare the daylights out of me if I happened upon it in a dark alley, LOL!
I'm too late for your previous post (again!) but just have to say WoW, what a beautiful picture. Treasure the timing ;)

The first one struck me most. Perhaps because it was meant to be scary, but still shaped like a heart.

Steve, I'm surprised no one punched me. I just crouched down and took pictures of people's pumpkins. Pretty brazen, I know. ;)

Anne, people get pretty creative. I love to see that.

Bernita, pumpkin carving is a rare pleasure.

Jaye, and you gotta love the punkin seeds.

Beady, the last couple of times I went to your site, something about the underlying jpegs is crashing my internet explorer! Am I the only one? Yikes.

Susan, ole Jack was everywhere last night. I hope you kept the goblins away. :)

Strugglingwriter, I was pretty jealous of the mummy, but then I realized it was probably done with a pattern. If so, no fair!

Normiekins, I think that insect is the strangest thing I've carved to date. But then again, I do try to be different. ;)

Kate, yeah, the mummy was pretty effective. BTW, thanks for the visit!!

Terri, thanks for the comment on the Hope picture. Yeah, that one was definitely one of my best ever. BTW, I wouldn't want to bump into my pumpkin in a dark alley either...or a cornfield in Sleepy Hollow for that matter. :D

Anne, you can say it, it's okay. I'm weird. :D

Addy, thanks! I'm still giggling about how I took a camera trick-or-treating.

Shesawriter, we had a beautiful night for Halloween last night. Warm and with a waxing half moon.

Mermaid, now that you point that out, I agree! I also liked the way they added crack marks in the features. Very effective.

Jeeze, I feel inferior now. You've got some seriously artistic or bored, competitive? neighbors!!!

Those are great. Somehow mine come out look like...well, nothing recognizable to be honest.

Fantastic shots. The lighting is really good.

I read your post that explains the "Clarity of Night" and I love it. I felt like you were describing my own feelings for me about night wrapping you up and extracting fantastic dreams. Love it!

Those are great photos, Jason. Yours is especially nice. :)

Susan, :D

Marie, it was a nice little Halloween tour we had.

Kathie, ha! Yes, bored and competitive.

Jay, going for anything in particular?

Eileen, it was just enough light to take hand-held pictures.

Ester, thanks so much! It's great to know when people can relate.

Jeff, thanks. I usually shoot for a demon or something, so this one was a big of a leap. :D
