Twas the Night Before Christmas (and some dude showed up)

The year was 1971, and I was one year old. My parents arranged for Santa to pay a surprise visit to the house. (Or was it John Lennon? Check out the groovy glasses!)

Come on in for a minute. I'll take your coat. We're getting hammered. (Yeah, you gotta love those toy workbenches.)

And I even have jammies with the feet! Nice and toasty.

Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season.

(Captured from old Super 8 home movies. Music: "The Holly and the Ivy," recorded by me.)

You are so lucky to have that video of you when you were young. I'm lucky to have a picture.

That was sooo sweet! Wow. We have a ton of those old home movies, too, that we need to get transfered to DVD.

Wow, that was great.
How cool.
I don't think there is a single video recording of me until I was well into my teen years, and I'm a bit younger than you.

Merriest of Christmases to you.

that is so sweet! much sweeter than my christmas post. :D

loved it, jason. that super 8 stuff is so locked in time. the music was perfect too.

Scott, yes, I think my parents made payments on that camera and projector at Sears. They were pretty good about filming up until I was 7 or 8.

Jaye, I think my sister-in-law bought an adult pair of those.

Melissa, I actually did it myself, but I would definitely encourage you to have it done. Well worth it.

Tart, thanks! Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Kaye, warm wishes to you too. :)

Susan, fall wasn't what I expected, so I'll just settle for a bright spring. :)

Joni, I'm the opposite. There's nothing of me after age 12. My parents were behind the times on video cameras. They still don't own one! (But I do.) ;)

Anne, your post was heart-warming in a Children of the Corn kinda way. :D Yeah, I love the Super 8 feel too.

Great Jason. My brother had all of my dad's old movies put onto a video. I have since transfered them to disc. Nice what one can do.

This is lovely, Jason! So Father Christmas is real after all.

Steve, it's so important to preserve those old movies. Glad you and your brother now have them!

Addy, yes, he is. :)
