Unmarked

i dug my grave with my teeth
in mouthfuls of piss philosophy
chomping all my freuds
swirling the flavors on the tip of my jung
i hear the clicking of the train tracks
and still can't get out of the way

cross my hands on my heart
if it's your last act
mine will be mine
clutched in my whisper fingers
and squeezed away

no one will look for me
in my sleepy cemetery
the stone is unmarked
and my bones will not scratch
my undiscovered name

Like that.

I can't really comment on this, except to say that there's always time--and, I hope, the motivation--to get out of the way.

Otherwise, its darkness would seem to swallow anything I might have to say.

i love it!

p.s. are you still interviewing for your night conversations?

Bernita, thank you. Bones are mighty important to us, but I'm afraid they crumble for just about anyone else.

Sarah, I'm not short on motivation. Maybe in the end we dodge the unrelenting dangers embedded in our bones. Or maybe we don't.

Vesper, thanks. :) Yes, Night Conversations is open. I haven't been promoting it as much lately, but the seat is still warm for anyone who wants stop over.

I do tend to think of Freud and Jung as "Piss" philosophy ... wow that made me laugh!

Szelsofa, is a bad character...you could be right! Not Paulie, though. He's still hanging around. ;)

Aggie, a little humor with the angst makes the medicine go down. :)

I know Paulie's alive, but he MIGHT send you fake messages to make you think he's no longer here. But death is never an obstacle.

Szelsofa, I like the way you think!

Yes! It seems defiant to me, rather than sad. I like this.

Very witty! I really loved those lines.

A lot of menace here. I often wonder about the people that have been laid to rest in graves that are unmarked. Did they not touch anyone in their lives who would want to remember them - or did everyone they touch want to ensure that they were forgotten>
