Earth and Bone
He slipped along soft almond hills
She grappled the heartwood of forests
He divided
She unfolded a dark spring storm
He plunged into earth and tender rain
She emptied her hidden ache to the Peregrine claw
He whispered honey incantations
She pounded the path of victorious prey
The lightning struck
And the gasping rhythm came
His and her body was
The melt of light and dark
For one more tongue-tipped day

outstanding!!!!!
That's some pretty rockin' love makin'. True story?
Oh, my! What a way to start my day! This is sensousness to the max! Now I have to go to work?
Exquisite! (I see two gods...)
I especially like
She unfolded a dark spring storm
Wow. There are so many lines here I am in love with that I don't know where to start! For some reason 'He Divided' really grabs me, and the culminating, 'melting of light and dark', merging the division. Completely scrumptious way to start the day.
Amorous!!!!
Earthy and provocative!
Whoa.. that was heavy stuff, yet so tender. Depicted some primeaval human instincts kicking in.
I expect this was the way it was meant to be. WONDERFULLY talented...that is what you are
Linda
great metaphors going on here. bravo
Okay I see an "outstanding" there... "Exquisite" too ... "Amorous" and "WONDERFULLY talented" and also "Earthy and provocative!".
Now what can I say except that I loved it to the core. Its superb!
Sharply stimulating and provocative. Great use of language...fresh and innovative.
I love your "sensuous & earthy" poems. They're so appealing!
Farg, Jason! That was hot!
Shadow, much obliged. :)
Walking Man, trim back some of the metaphor, and yes.
Karen, glad to get your day started right!
Vesper, they are very elemental. But I think we all become so. What a gift of human experience.
Catvibe, thank you! It's such a boundless moment. When we allow ourselves to have it.
Margaret, good word. :)
Bebo, the tides of the Earth are a wonderful place to lose yourself.
Aditi, welcome! I like that the tenderness was preserved.
Linda, such a kind thing to say! Thank you. :)
Gerry, a savory soup of metaphors.
Aniket, thank you for the praise! I do like to see the sensuous side of life given its due in art.
Kaye, you know, capturing an erotic moment is so difficult without using graphic language. Such a fine line between corny and provocative. Fresh metaphors are not easy to find. That said, I think it's a side of life that deserves the attention.
Woman in a Window, "hot" will do very nicely. ;) Thanks!
Beautifully written apart from the......oh never mind! Just beautiful, you.
An aptly titled piece. This would make for a nice reading -- a duet perhaps (male & female poet).
that was beautifully written
loved it :)
SarahA, I'll give that issue some thought. :) And thanks!
JR Thumbprints, yeah, that would be cool! Especially if the folks could really imbue the phrases with a growing intensity.
Amal Bose, thank you! And welcome!!
