The Wait Too Long

I'm like magma
pulsing
pulsing with heights
and long long earthquakes
and incineration
like magma
pulsing
under the weight
of a cold ocean
turning
swelling
pushing hot fault lines
and majestic
carved mountains
like magma
bulging
under a boiling ocean
and you breathe
your fast breaths
in the steam

Carrie, Meghan, Oddyoddyo13, and Chatterbox, the brave commenters! I wanted to capture a rawness here. And a driving force with the repetition. I had fun with the photo too. It's foam just before the drop at Niagara Falls.

You have such a wonderful way with words. This sums up exactly how I feel when I'm about to explode in temper.

"long, long, earthquakes..."
My favourite line.

Um. Yes. Hot and heavy... quite right, I wasn't brave enough to be one of the first to comment :)

Raine, great to see you! This one is up your alley, no?

Petty Witter, oh, I love that! A different read than I intended, but perfect.

Bernita, I thought that line really fit.

Terri, wow, you slipped in there as I was hitting publish. I totally understand not wanting to be first! I glad I took a shot at describing driving desire, though.
