Voting for the Readers' Choice Award is now open!
This portion of the contest is open to everyone who submitted an entry and received a Night Owl Number. Here are the rules:
- Contest participants are invited to vote for their top 5 favorite entries by emailing their votes to jevanswriter at yahoo dot com.
- Please vote by finalist number and list your votes from 1 to 5 with 1 being your top vote.
- I will award 5 points for your 1st vote, 4 points for your 2nd vote, 3 points for your 3rd, 2 points for your 4th, and 1 point for your 5th. If you submit fewer than 5 votes, I'll award the least number of votes possible for each choice (for example, if you vote for only 2 entries, I'll award 2 and 1 points, respectively).
- You may not vote for your own entry. Please specify your Night Owl Number at the beginning of your email.
- At the close of Readers' Choice Award voting, I will tally the points. The winner will be the entry with the most points.
- I reserve the right to award additional Readers' Choice Awards with or without prizes.
As you read, please keep the comments coming. Feedback and appreciation is the fuel along the lonely road of writing. If you find folks whose writing moves you, please visit their blogs or ask where you can find more. Enjoy your own judging, and above all, have fun!
Cast your votes before Monday, August 2nd, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (U.S.). At that time, I will let you know when the winners will be announced.
AND THERE'S MORE!!
Check back tomorrow, when Stephen Parrish and I will take a crack at the "Uncovered" photo.

Such a great contest! I'm so honored to be a part of this. Now I just need to go read all the rest of the entries I haven't had time to read yet. So exciting!
Hi Jason
Thanks for offering another great contest! The entries have been amazing and I've enjoyed reading them. Thanks for the opportunity to stretch my writing wings once more.
Dottie :)
I'm glad I did drop by. Actually, I get your blog updates in my email, so I've been "lurking" for a while. Glad I was able to sit down and write this evening. Rushed, it may be, but rewarding nonetheless. As always, thanks, Jason, and great to "see" you too! I'll be working my way through the entries. So far I have a big star beside one that just made me go WOW!
Thank you for the contest!
I'm glad we can choose five stories to vote for. I've read all of them so far and I've a short-list of ten, so reducing it to five is doable. Just about!
There were some wonderful entries.
Thanks for another great contest, Jason. I'm still working my way through all the entries, but can I just say: Josh Vogt, wow!
Three attempts and still learning.
This one Jason, has taken me a level up, closer to the coveted position. Learning never ends.
I appreciate all the hard work that goes in conducting such competitions...Hope to impress you next time around. :)
Aww, thanks, Deb! Everyone has been exceptionally kind in their comments. Jason, thanks for hosting this once more, knowing the workload you'd face. And Stephen, thanks for providing the inspiration for all these wonderful stories.
Michele, Dottie, Fairyhedgehog, Deb, Rohan, and Josh,
Thank you, everyone! I've been a busy bee behind the scenes, and I've very pleased with the turn out and the amazing entries!
Bekbek, I have a special place in my heart for the lurkers. It's such a high compliment--reading just because you want to. It means a lot to me. Thanks!
Man, this is always hard because I can only pick five and there are so many great stories every time!
This is the number one reason why I return: I like to vote. I'm not sure whether it's my personal taste in stories and/or writing style, but when it's over I will compare and reassess. As for now, I've got a dozen stories on my short list and a few more to read.
I'm only half way through the entries and already I'm not sure how to whittle my favorites down to 5.
Good luck everyone!
Five, perfect. I've read them all now. I managed to change blogger identities a few times on the way through, whoops, so you'll never know...who was that masked commenter...
Yes...who was that masked Koala? We may never know.
Sigh. Picking my top five is always even harder than writing my entry. So much excellence.
Hey Jason, you know what? THIS IS A LOT OF READING! Sheesh. (Thank goodness so many are so nicely done!)
I have been arbitrarily reading the stories when I get time, and commenting as time permits. Now, I have no idea who is who and where my favorites are.
Back to the ole drawing board, I'll know better next time!
Thanks, Jason, this is fun.
Thanks for a great contest Jason and Stephen. Wonderful stories, a lot of magic and fairy tale stuff, which is my favorite. Great!
