All Hallows Eve

Some wisdom is whispered down the generations--not written, but remembered. Its origins are lost in the darkness, when feeble candles flickered and lamps did little more than light the fear in faces.

Listen to the memories of people folded back into the Earth. Warning you. Spirits roam tonight.

Jack-o-Lanterns leer on your doorstep. One face glows evil to ward off the tricksters, and one silly to befuddle the demons. Retire to bed, and pull the covers up a little higher.

Be wary--the lingering shivers betray
Wickedness biding, despising the day.

Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Oooh, I love this! Now I wanna tell ghost stories! Well, listen. Listen to ghost stories... I don't think I actually know any.

jason,
Great post!
Now what I want to know is how you managed to add personalized sound effects with that photo?
You know, like when I open your post and that one on my right starts growling and snapping and saying, "C'mere a little closer, JEFF!"
So cool! :)

Just as I'm reading this, the first set of trick-or-treaters are at my doorstep. Happy Halloween! Love the flaming orange and red against the black.

Now Kelly, I thought we talked about this! LOL!

Livewire, I'm full of ghost stories. Should I tell another?

Anne, thanks! Sometime I crack myself up with how the pictures come out. Since I was at home, I could use a tripod to make it a little easier for me. (You should see the long exposure ones--it looks like I've got a nuclear reactor in the pumpkins or something.)

Jeff, that one speaks to you, huh? (Don't worry, it spoke to me too!)

Mermaid, hope you had a great night. We just got back after a perfect time with the ghouls and goblins.

We actually had a total of some odd 75 kids come. My husband had to make a second run for candy. Next year, we'll be prepared!

Jane, I'm sorry to say the police drove the one on the right home last night. He won't be charged, but we're making him pay restitution.

Mermaid, sounds like a productive night. The more the merrier!

Nice lighting in this shot.

.:A:., thanks, I liked the way the light is coming through the pumpkin shell and giving the whole shape definition. Just the cut outs floating in blackness didn't seem to have the same impact.
