18th Summer

the sun bled onto tobacco fields
soil oozing heat to match the sky
tires rasped against the road
and the wind spoke of openness
of everything ahead

the sleepy world was pregnant
I reached out my hands
eager for the birth
but as the heat wiggled the distance
the miles unrolled more road ahead

Cloudia, that's a good question. It makes me think.

Shakespeare, I like trying to capture atmospheres in photos!

Lee, with something like this post, which was very real, I so want words to evoke as much of the experience as possible. So that's wonderful to hear!

Wild Rose, perhaps you have had such moments.

Erratic Thoughts, thank you!
