Hush

dark is more
than the absence of light
dark is the raising
of the gossamer curtain
dark is quiet’s kiss
dark is the hush
before the first cricket sings
dark is where
I listen to you

I like this construct yet I wonder at life on the dusky dark or the lightning dawn. I see better but not fully.

point on!

on a side note, it is interesting that on winter solstice we anticipate and summon light and now, on the longest day of the year you write about darkness.
it makes me wonder about the human mind - we can explain and justify almost anything we come up with. our versatility is fantastic.

Shadow, very cool. :) I can definitely see you liking this.

Shakespeare, the world becomes so much smaller. And intimate.

Walking Man, it's not a world that could endure our entire waking life, I think.

Szelsofa, that's a very good point you make. In winter, I suppose we don't have quite enough life to enjoy the dark.

Loved the line: dark is quiet’s kiss.
Quiet. The effect of this word is so strong.
