Footsteps of the Lamb

The last stretch of winter light bent on the hills.

Underneath the ice, the soil was restless. It awoke to a sky kindling with clarity.

(What grows in you when the March sun shines?)

More like what melts in me, and that would be the cold that seeps into my bones during an Irish winter.

Lovely photo!

"What grows in you when the March sun shines?"

A ravenous craving for Cadburry Mini Eggs, which are like chocolate crack cocaine. Also, since I'm an April baby, anticipation of gifts!

That sense of restless energy beneath the soil is what grows for me - it can be channeled into exuberance but mostly I feel the urgency of everything waking up.

Like yesterday, behind the barn, dozens of kamikaze carpenter bees sounded like a woodworking shop gone into overdrive.

When the March sun shines I grow restless. I want to be out in the sun feeling it on my face. I want to walk and take in everything that has a new bloom or bud on it. I want to walk outside and smell. It smells like it just rained but didn't all earthy smelling. Then when I am through with nature I come in and clean the hell out of my house. It is spring cleaning time! :) Have a great weekend.

Anticipation, pure and simple. For as long as I can remember, March has always made me feel that anything is possible. Sounds weird, I guess, but March = reborn, a new chance. Do you suppose that's because my birthday is in March? Do other people feel that way about their birth month?

Gratitide grows within me. What a beautiful post and thoughts to grow with it.

Terri, I hope the weather is merciful and gives you a big dose!

Jaye, happy pre-birthday!! Cadburry eggs...too sweet for me, but I know there are many, many addicts. :D

Billie, yes, sometimes the soil feels like a living, growing thing rather than just the medium to support other life. **Our bees haven't even awakened yet. We're in the brown and mud stage of early spring.

Beady, I hope you're having a great weekend too! How's that beautiful little girl of yours? **Spring has always been a time of great creative energy for me. The rush of warmth and growth gets into my bones, I suppose.

KC, I think that's part of what I'm feeling in what I described in my response to Beady just above. Anything's possible. I have to say I don't feel that in my birthday month, though. You can see my post in early January about how I feel about that. ;)

Mermaid, thanks. :) It's nice to have the opportunity to bring photographs back into a central place here. This winter just didn't give me much to express that way.

Susan, thanks, my friend. =)

Well the March sun hasn't begun to shine yet, but when it does a smile grows first and then a kind of energy that eventually bursts through like throwing off your winter skin. I LOVE the good weather, so bring it on.

Hunger for sun; an itch in my legs to discover the uncovered earth; a certain wanderlust.

Kate, you know, I was just thinking, in a way I am in your pocket. All these thoughts and perceptions recorded here. It's like a living, breathing book of myself.

Wilf, yes, that mix of colors is amazing. :)

Jude, thanks!

Verilion, I hope you get that break in weather soon. Rebirth and growth...I think we're all ready.

Nasra, be well. :) Thanks for letting me know you were here. I hope you have time to yourself soon.

Jay, I hope it takes you to undiscovered places.

Wow, what a beautiful photo.

March, I watch the tender, fresh leaves daily grow on the trees, from my window at my desk. This year is special because I am home and can really enjoy it. I try to remember that March is bitter wind and snow... but I don't feel it. Instead, I'm jumping and running, ready for summer.
