Singularity

Universe of skies
collapsing
g r a v I t y
spinning compasses
forge their deviance
inward
magnetic poles drift
                    s
                    o
                    u
                    t
                    h
      whisper secrets
      squeezing truth
until you
*STOP*
Just stop.
      Just stop.
Waterfalls
In the dark
Wash the entire world
My hands
Don't know
what
to touch

Wow this is great. I see you've been using your time to compose some great stuff while you've been hosting your competition. I like the way you've set it out so it is almost like a waterfall at one point.

I don't know what it is about your poetry that is so captivating; then again I don't know much about poetry. I do like the way the words flow and cascade; and that's a great photograph, even if I can't figure out what it is. It looks like an acid trip ;)

I love this one, a lot.

The last line brings it to a perfect close.

Lines of water, streams of consciousness...which ones will we touch indeed.

Vixen, thanks. :)

Canterbury Soul, much appreciated! I liked incorporating the visual impact of the words into this one.

Verilion, I did get some nice photographs in the meantime. One even might be the next contest pic!

Terri, I love that you find the poetry compelling. What a high compliment! The picture as an acid trip...I like that. :)

Billie, next to the dark poetry of fragrance, touch is the most heartbreaking of all the senses.

Mermaid, I suppose the first step is to reach out.

Kate, any idea what it might be? :)

I liked this one a lot, both the pic and the verse. I have no idea what the pic is, but I love it. A fishing lure? You did some photographical trickery no doubt.

The poem is effective in helping me catch its mission of a slight dizzy effect, jason. :-)

Jaye, thanks. :) The picture is a multi-second exposure of a Tiffany-style lamp with a dragonfly pattern. I rotated and moved the camera for the blur, then held still to burn in the wing elements.

Susan, yes, you've captured it. :)

Tart, thanks so much. :) I'm quite a fan of your poetry.
