That's beautiful!! Last weekend, I took my two boys to a park, and they took pictures of the trees. I collected leaves. I'm hoping to have their pictures blown up, and glue some of the leaves to them, and frame it. It's an idea, anyway. Hope it turns out the way I have it pictured in my head.
Definitely one of my all time favorite autumn photos. You know how I love to see the colorful leaves against a clear, saturated blue sky, especially from that perspective. It makes me feel at one with the Earth when I experience a day like that. I can still smell the freshness of the air....
I should go live in The Forest Of Penn like you do; all the trees in Fort Collins kind of went from green summer garb to bare sticks in the span of a chilly weekend.

What a great picture with all those different colors!
Fireworks? Hm. Why not;)

Lovely words and beautiful picture. Autumn's great.
Gorgeous! All the more so because it's so fleeting.
"Earth-blood" is a wonderful compound word!!
Anne, thanks.
Kaycie, it was a perfect sky for it.
Anne Frasier, we hit it at just the right time. Autumn has been delayed both at home and up in the mountains.
Church Lady, I'm sure it will be gorgeous. :)
Szelsofa, the dark trunks looked like rocket trails to me with the explosions overhead.
Aine, I know how you love this combination. I took this one for you.
Marie, it's the most inspiring and mystical season for me.
Sarah, yes, as the leaves fall, every minute diminishes the beauty.
Kristen, thanks. :) I thought it was a nice way to evoke the mix of earth colors.

Oh, yes I think I got it when I had written my earlier comment, but I did have to look and think more than once.
Great photo, Jason! Perfect blending of colors.
You should sell that photo to Microsoft - they could use it as the standard background in their next release of Windows :)
I'm off to read The Stairs now from start to finish - been saving it for the weekend when I'd have some time.
Electric Orchid Hunter, that's disappointing! It does that here when it's dry.
Szelsofa, I like poems to be a shade obscure.
Jeff, thanks. I liked the mix and the trunks from different directions.
Terri, a Microsoft background would be cool :) Hope you enjoy The Stairs.
Very concise! Nice fusion of imagery with image. Nice!
Billy, it was late when I wrote the Haiku. Concise was key. ;) Thanks for the visit! I'll stop over and say hi.
