Ascension
by Deepsat

As he stood on the staircase, he could reminiscence the ordeal of the past few days. Across the myriad thoughts running in his head, he was still a bit dazed from those events.

Hours of mindless torture! Harassment! Humiliation in every possible way! And why did that happen? Because he was reprimanding an ideology! He wanted to free them off their uncanny beliefs which were so wrong. He knew they were going in the wrong direction; he merely wanted to correct that. But that was not how it was supposed to happen. They always learn their lessons by committing the biggest mistake that is ever possible.

He did forgive them for everything on that day itself. However, he was not sure on the ramifications of those events in the distant future. Maybe he will never be understood by anyone till the end of time.

There was nothing to look back on now. Time had moved on.

Three days of suffering were over and today he was going home. His promises to his benefactors were complete; at least they could vouch for him.

As he crossed the final steps, he saw the room ahead of him. It was filled with bright light. He knew his father was waiting there for him. He could not control his joy.

He ran towards the door. He was carrying very less baggage.

As he reached the room, the initials on his bags glistened. It read “JC”!

No baggage indeed. An ascension worth remembering, worth recognizing, worth praying about.

Uplifting story, Deepsat. For believers, this is the ultimate ascension, and it was a stroke of inspiration on your part to re-imagine it.

I had to read it twice before realizing what JC stood for.

A brilliant way of interpreting Christ's Ascension.

Powerfully written, great detail.
