On the Eve of Dews and Darkness

He touched the blushing shadows of her shoulder
ripe with September sun
like the prickled skin of an apple
introduced to his lips by a kiss

Soon the sun will be set with the summer entombed
but his lips sang evening
flush with the throaty breeze
chased by a indigo sigh

Unfolding for the birth of Andromeda her legs eased to prayer
and he bent to her hot sacraments
over the cold dew harvest
as her eyes melted an October moan

I am understanding that you are a harvest season person Jason.

Oh, what an apple, Jason! If I didn't know better, I would bite through the screen... :-)
And what a sensual poem! The impending autumn seems suddenly much friendlier...

Henceforth, I'll not blame Eve for any sin!

I always knew that - An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Now I know it does more than that!

Really loved this poem Jason. :)

Dude, you should have had a "do not read at work" sign on this one. I'm feeling all frisky all of a sudden. :)

That photo is September to me.

And the sensual poetry... I'm sighing an indigo sigh.

Evocative and beautiful word picture. The apple about to lose its cherry? Well, sort of - if you get my drift.

Walking Man, I think so. But also, in a strange way, I'm drawn to immerse myself in the character of each season. And feel it.

Vesper, very tasty. ;) Just pluck it off the tree. And yes, you should make the darkening season like this poem! How much grander it would be.

Shadow, for some reason, that phrase does stick. For me too. Thank you!

Aniket, wise, my friend. Very wise. ;)

Margaret, I see similar communions are in the air. :)

Charles, that's perfect!! All the better for the anticipation in coming home.

PixieDust, it's a deep surrender.

Mona, be careful who you eat those apples with. ;) We don't want any accidents.

Aine, I'm blushing! Or maybe it's heat. :) Thank you!!!

PhilipH, yes, indeed! Soon we'll have a whole fruit basket.

This is sensuous to the max! (Almost too hot to handle, Jason!)

Quick turn of events; gets a little dicey at the end.

Oh my, a far cry from the previous post... You should've posted a warning on this one, Dude, so I could've composed my face first. I am sitting in MacDonalds doing my blogging 'cos they have free WiFi, cos it'll still be a week or so till our internet is connected at home. I'm pretty sure the look on my face could've gotten me arrested... lol!

Karen, burns like this heal quickly. ;)

JR, too late to run.

Meghan, moments like that are poetry. :)

Terri, I loved that! You gave me a huge smile. :) :)

Well, color me hot and bothered.

Love the apple image: skin over firm flesh, juicy...

Harvest time, when everything is ripe...

Oooh. Hot and bothered again.

ummm, it's good to visit you again here. i like how seasons crash together here in this one quiet unsuspecting fruit.

i wrote once of peaches like this, orb of shoulder and all.
