Rain is my Bosom

rain is my bosom
washed miserable and deep
waking plump new days

I'm fixating on the word "miserable" here. Washing away misery? I am miserable because of the soaking? Interesting to contemplate and makes me think of the horrible flooding in Tennessee right now. Of course, the use of "plump" softens this us. Oh, and love the word "bosom!" You certainly packed a lot of punch into one little haiku, but that's the point of haiku, isn't it?

Some days it takes the tears of the heart to clean the soul.

waking plump new days. Oh, I long for them. Beautiful images that go with those words too :)

I love the words-they remind me of new beginnings.

Karen, your ruminations so often mirror mine. I'm glad you appreciate what was packed in.

Walking Man, I like that. Very true words of wisdom.

Tabitha, that photo was taken on Easter. I wandered around the yard during the egg hunt.

Oddyoddyo13, yes, in essence I think that was what I was saying.

Sorry, Jason...couldn't resist!

New beginnings, I'm thinking of the start of spring. A great choice of picture, it complements your words beautifully.

This somehow reminds me of the beautiful lyric of Tennyson 'Tears idle Tears' that rise in the heart and fill the eyes!

Great haiku. Glad I found your blog. CLARITY OF NIGHT is so true. At night things take on a clarity of truth that the sun blocks with too much input and stimuli.

Here's a haiku I wrote for my historical fantasy, RITES OF PASSAGE :

Clouds drift like dreams,
I reach to touch the moon,
I grasp but empty night.

Laurel, ooh, I like the reversal! I can almost see those plump little babies now.

Petty Witter, thank you! I often let photography lead me into poems and vignettes.

Mona, I have to go read that one again. Rising in the heart sounds perfect.

Roland, welcome! Your haiku is perfect for the spirit of this blog. Glad you found me over here!
